MÓGŪSELECTED WORK

PHOTOGRAPHY DIRECTION

The project

Two shoots, in May and June 2026, for the new MÓGŪ brand system I developed. They supplied the photography for the new website, the Meta campaigns and the ordering channels.

What I did

I came up with the shoot concepts, hired the models, wrote the shot lists, selected the references and directed both shoots. I directed the menu photography against a green background as a matched set, now used on the website and across third-party ordering platforms.

The May 13, 2026 shoot at the East Meadow restaurant covered the menu, lifestyle, packaging and catering. I gave each dish a surface, an angle and a moment: sauce mid-drip, a noodle pull, a hand coming in with chopsticks.

Beige concrete and green tile carry most of the list so the photos read as one set. Bold red, pink and pastel backdrops are reserved for hero shots.

The food

I wrote the food shots to fill a phone screen: tight close-ups of glaze, sesame, chili oil and orange slices.

The people

I planned real bites and real expressions into the list. The shoot came back with a noodle pull, a rib mid-bite, mochi held up like eyes, and meals in the dining room.

Stop motion

The tablescape was shot as a run of frames with a hand reaching in and out of the spread. I turned the frames into a stop-motion hero for the homepage designs.

I built the June shot list from the menu itself, with each catering tray’s count and description. The June 11, 2026 shoot covered catering and the menu for the website, Toast and the printed menu.

Trays were shot overhead on one tan background so every catering item matches on the site. Group spreads show the size of an order.
