CASA GIANNASELECTED WORK

MIAMI SPICE AND SEASONAL EMAILS

The project

Casa Gianna’s Miami Spice page and emails, and the seasonal emails I wrote and sent for the restaurant from Thanksgiving through Mother’s Day.

What I did

I built the Miami Spice page, revised and sent its launch and last-call emails, and cut the last-call email’s images from 1,254 KB to 176 KB. I also write, design, code and send Casa Gianna’s seasonal emails in Mailjet.

Miami Spice

Project context

The page and emails for Casa Gianna’s Miami Spice menus, three courses for lunch at $40 and dinner at $50, August 1 to September 30. Miami Spice is Greater Miami’s Restaurant Months: for two months, restaurants across the city serve three-course menus at a set price.

My contribution

I wrote the page introduction and built the page on casagianna.com.

I organized the page around what guests ask before reserving: lunch and dinner pricing, course choices, upgrades and dates. The menu is grouped by course with pairings, upgrades and prices, the service charge sits beside the offer, and reservations, terrace seating and group bookings follow.

On a phone

I revised the launch email’s layout and code with Codex, working from the existing copy and the shoot photographs. I chose the subject line, “Miami Spice is served: 3 courses from $40,” and the preheader, “Lunch for $40. Dinner for $50. Join us August 1 to September 30.”

The shoot produced two similar photographs, so I used only the wider table shot and kept the menu and reservation details from competing with a second image.

I traced the weight to oversized assets and a background-image hero. The logo was 4,499 by 1,678 pixels, displayed at 190 pixels wide. I re-exported every image at twice its display size, replaced the background hero with an image element, which email clients render more reliably, and moved the reserve button into the hero.

Seasonal emails

Project context

One reusable template serves every occasion. I change the photography, offer and color for each send without rebuilding the email, and set the type in Georgia and Arial so it doesn’t depend on custom-font support in email clients.

My contribution

I write, design, code and send these emails in Mailjet.

Thanksgiving

I put the prix-fixe menu, price and holiday hours in one send so guests could judge the meal before reserving.

Holiday parties

I wrote “Celebrate the Holidays at Casa Gianna” around the two hosting spaces, the Private Dining Room and the outdoor terrace for up to 80 guests, and asked planners to inquire before dates filled.

Valentine’s Day

I adapted the template for Valentine’s Day and kept the menu and both evenings’ service times on the email.

Easter

I built the Easter send around the specials, prices and brunch hours, with the live-music time listed for planning.

Your Table Under the Sky

I built this outdoor-dining email starting from the restaurant’s existing patio photography.

Dine Al Fresco

I organized the second outdoor-dining send by time of day, with a separate reason to come for breakfast, aperitivo and dinner.

Mother’s Day

I split brunch and dinner into separate sections so guests could compare the two services and reserve one.
